What is the Bacon Festival?

The Bacon Festival is a festival that has been going on for 10 years in the U.S. state of Iowa, where hog farming is thriving, and was started by men who love Iowa’s bacon.

The number of people who attend the festival reaches 20,000 every year.

Our sister city, Yamanashi Prefecture, has been hosting the Bacon Festival since 2017.

Participation Fee

Individual: 3,000 yen/person
Groups: 9,000 yen/group (3 persons per group)
The participation fee must be paid in advance after the decision to participate has been made.

Eligibility for participation

1.Groups: 3 persons per team, no substitutions allowed.
2.Duplicate entries for both groups and individuals are not allowed. (In case of duplicate entries, both entries will be invalid.)
3.Participants must be 15 years of age or older and in good health.
4.Regardless of nationality

Prizes and awards

1.Gold, Silver, and Bronze Frying Pan Trophies will be awarded to the top three group and individual winners.
2.Prize money: Group winner: 30,000 yen Individual winner: 10,000 yen
